The 302 was never offered int eh Ranger. The largest engine ever in a production ranger was the SOHC 4.0. The explorer recieved the 302, then later the Sport Tracs got the 4.6.
The Bronco II has a shorter wheelbase than even the short bed ranger. It can be very versatile in this configuration. There were conversion kits offered for just this in the 80's and 90's.
And a FSB without the top does not make an F150. Again shorter wheel base than the short bed F150 and it creates and open air enviroment with seating for 5, 6 if you have the bench seat.
