Add a few more to the COMPLETE list...
*** Radiator fan shroud *** COMPLETE ***
*** Seal firewall holes *** COMPLETE ***
*** Seal fresh air vents *** COMPLETE ***
I modified a shroud off a V6 Explorer and it fit very nicely on my Ron Davis radiator. The results are AMAZING. Before the shroud, I was running two 10" electric fans in front of the radiator with the Explorer clutch fan behind and no shroud. My temps on the interstate usually get to 205-210 at sustained 3000 RPM (60 MPH). Today I observed no higher than 185 degrees (180 degree thermostat) with the two 10" fans still installed but not running. The fans have since been removed to my junk box for future implementation. I am totally stoked about the temps! I cannot believe I did not do a shroud a LONG time ago. I always thought it was just going to be a HUGE pain in the butt; was pretty simple!
On another note, I am experiencing loss of power at upper RPM ranges of 3500-5000. it feels like fuel starvation but not sure yet. Time to investigate. I may have to spring for a fuel pressure gauge at some point. Looks like whatever sickness Chuck's Bronco had was contagious.
