Hey, no prob turning this into a discussion thread
I really don't care- my above comment wasn't sarcasm for once.
I have a ruff stuff guard on my racer. That was back before I knew of Barnes. I really like Brad and both vendors have similar product lines. This one came from him. His prices are great and it is nice having quick shipping times.
Yes, having a pinion guard leaves the support bolts vulnerable. However, I think they're less likely to get damaged than a yoke is. I could see Nick H's yoke spinning against one of the rocks we were trying to get him off of. I'd rather have a guard in place for that. Barring a big shock load from ramming into a rock, those bolts should be fine. Hasn't been an issue with the racer (knock on wood) and this rig won't get abused near as much.
My next project will be to install the engine/trans/t-case, etc. Waiting on some red Loctite to get here. Ran out the other day. I want to be sure nothing vibrates loose down the road. These engines are notorious for that.
Hope to get the drivetrain in place by this time next week. Been very busy with my 'real' job
