You may have luck at LKQ. Can't believe someone would want you to install that rusted mess. From a business perspective, I say the customer is ALWAYS right with the caveat that we have the obligation to ensure they are thoroughly informed and educated on the choice they want to make.
If, after being educated, the customer still wants that pile of poop installed, I say go for it. They will be back in time to have it replaced either because it fails or they come to their senses. Either way, more $$$ for you.
Good on you for sticking to your guns and trying to do what is right. A lot of shops would not do the same.
Being familiar the with extent of the work being done to the rest of the rig, I am surprised he wants to skimp on such a critical part.
Be sure to save some work for me when I get back to CHS!!!
