That is what i had been doing. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room for the heim to move and caused the shaft to bend. The problem is mounting the tabs on the drag link basically at the tie rod end by the pitman arm. It is at an angle yet the cylinder is level. That difference in angle killed me.
I can't find a good way to weld a mounting surface to the drag link and still keep everything nice and level while making for plenty of movement room for the heim.
