The Shootout went very well. Thanks for the banner palcement Chuck.
Had great weather until Sat. evening when the bottom fell out, we barely pulled off the cookout and never made it to the range. Had a good turnout on Friday with about 9 rigs and Saturday with around 11-12. The trails were almost deserted compared to a normal weekend. On Friday we rode everry trail except Falls Dam and part of sawmill, and only saw maybe 7-8 other rigs on the trails. On Saturday we decided to go up Daniel first thing and didn't run into anyone else on the trails except a couple of Jeeps parked at the top. Then went around the Rocky Mt. loop to Kodak, ran into a few vehicles having trouble getting up the one ledge on the uphill run just before getting to Kodak. All of the Broncos walked right up without a problem. Had some fun on Kodak and then ran all the other trails except Dickey Bell. Again saw very little traffic.
There was a bit of carnage, but not bad - we had a blown bypass hose, DS u-joint, blown hub (not the locking hub, but the hub/rotor assy) and probably a couple new dents and scratches. Gary got the worst when the front spring hangar got ripped from the frame. He said it was making a strange noise, but he knew something was wrong when he started crab walking on the road.
Hate that I missed the Raleigh Get-together. We'll have to coordinate better next year so that people can attend both.
