Im thinking about buying a 74 bronco and its seriously rusted. the bed, door jambs, fenders, tailgate all need work. how hard is it to replace these? I have done mechanical work in the past but never body work. I dont want a show quality resto done just a good job, am I getting in too deep? he wants 1100 for it and it seems to run decent other than some lifter tap. its a 74 block so im not sure about the valve guides and unleaded gas. what other things should i check out on the 4wd? locking hubs? the windshield glass isnt installed and needs a bracket welded in. I have access to welding equipment but no experience using it. thanks for the advice.

1st off welcome neighbor!! is this the one off craigs list? with a spot weld removal tool those panels will come off easier. The frame is probably the main thing...make sure it's not rusted through!!! If it drives, put it in 4wd to test out things...the rest can be fixed ok. Thanks for joining!! locals will be meeting next week if ya like..hook up with us,Chuck

the only spot on the frame that looked bad was at the mount for the rear bumber on drivers side. is it worth 1100 if most of the body is shot?
