Concord Meet at Dennis Carpenter's
#1
Matt and I are planning the spring Dennis Carpenter's meet and are looking at two tentative dates, March 28th and April 11th (April 4th is not available).

I was leaning toward April 11th to lessen the possibility of a cold nasty day like last year, but I just realized that is the day before Easter. May be good for some that get a long weekend out of it, but bad for others who are traveling to be with family. So I thought I'd take a poll.

Would you attend if this were held on Saturday, April 11th (day before Easter) or prefer that it be held another day in March or April?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, it's a 1 day event at Dennis Carpenters. This will be the 3rd year. The past 2 years they have given tours of the Dennis Carpenter facility and also had opened doors to the incredible collection of classic cars, trucks, and scooters. It bleeds into a dinner at the Quaker Steak & Lube.

Most of the vendors donate prizes for the raffle etc. It's a great time and you need to be there this year!

It's a one-day meet and greet hosted by vendor Dennis Carpenter Reproduction in Concord, NC (http://www.dennis-carpenter.com). They have a car museum on site and also offer tours of their facility. Planning to have some food items available for purchase, burgers, that sort of thing. People come and hang out, check out each other's trucks, take a group photo etc. and raffle off the vendor-donated goods. Last year we had an articulation ramp (Rhonda - any chance of getting that again?), and after the meet we usually get together at a nearby restaurant for dinner. We'll probably have it from 11-4 with dinner at 5. Still in the planning stages, so nothing is set in stone yet. It's a great chance to get out and make some friends, put a face to all those crazy screen names! It's a good time.

The tour of the facility alone was worth the trip. Cool to see where all the parts come from and just how much he has amassed over the years. People that work there are the tour guides and do a very good job. Museum is kind of eclectic. Little bit of everything.

I can't make it on the 13th. How about April 20th.? Get rid of some of the cold and dreary weather we've had in the past! :xyxthumbs:
