Firing order thanks
#1
I appreciate everyone who responded about the firing order. I just have one more question. The firing order that I used was the 5.0 HO 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
I know that the HO stands for High Out put, but can anyone tell me anything more about it. Like what years they were made and if their is any thing special about them? Thanks guys.

The 5.0 firing order is the same regardless of the HO designation. Not sure what year they switched to the 5.0, but I think it was 86. Not all the parts are interchangable, not only is the cam diffrent, the cyl heads have larger ports. So the intakes can be tough to swap around. The harmonic dampners are also diffrent. There are several books out there on how to build the older 289-302, and I have seen some on just the 5.0 depending on what your building.
Hope that helps some.
