Well, I like making knives. I only make straight blade knives. I have been so busy with church work that I've had to put that on the back burner but I can't wait to start on the next one. I've made 154 different knives to date. I have sold everyone and I keep a book on who bought them and what kind it was. :xyxthumbs:

Clint, I'd like to a couple of your knives if you have pictures. I have attempted to make one or too. It is a lot harder than it sounds.

I have a friend that bought a gas forge and anvil to make his knives. I've seen him take a piece of round tool steel, heat it up, and start pounding away. The next thing you know he's made a fillet knife. His inlaws run a timber co. so he has a nice supply of beautiful wood for handles. He wants to start making leather sheaths soon.

I never really had time for a hobby through the years but now that things are slowin down a little, I like tinkerin on stuff in the shop.I help my boys keep thier vehicles goin, mess around with my truck, yard work,or just hang out in general. Sometimes just hangin out with no plan at all is the best.

It really depends on the type of knife. Fillet knives are quicker because you don't have the thickness of the blades to deal with. I order a lot of blades from various companies if I'm in a hurry to produce a knife for someone who can't wait. I get blades from old broken knives and rework them, just anything to keep busy.

Aaron, I'll try to find some pics later and post those. Thanks for your interest! :xyxthumbs:
