I have my SC permit. I have had it a couple of years. The class is a great thing to take, tells you alot about the laws.

The big thing is SC allowing you to carry in places that allow alcohol now vs the rest of the states ban. There is no reason to carry in a Bar unless you have a badge and a warrant and then that is Iffy .Hell FL had the John Wayne law that allowed you to carry everywhere as long as it wasnt concealed and I did that allot .If you carry be prepared to use it and suffer the consiquences once you do.
BTW My Father was a Deputy Sheriff for the last 16 yrs of his life and stil got hit head on by a drunk Driver in his patrol car.Thats Irony. He didnt die from that but was never the same after that and it eventually led to his death.

The reciprocity laws are funny. I'm permitted in NC and know NC's laws. But when I carry in another state, I must know and abide by their laws. It's up to the permit holder to look up the laws and follow them accordingly.

For instance, I know that in NC with my permit I can conceal my handgun in the console, under the seat, on my person, or I can openly display on the dash if I want. But SC, I believe, I can only conceal on my person in my vehicle, not under the seat or in the console. SC also doesn't like open display in a vehicle.

When you get into reading laws and statues thing can get fuzzy with all the may's and shall's.

I've been thinking of getting an NC permit.
George, where did you do the classes?

Bill- you can call Rex's indoor range. They are located on upward rd. They offer the class on Sundays. There # is 828-696-9838.

I took my class up in Brevard at a Police Cheif house. So good luck.

I went to and apply to get my permit yesterday and had to fill out alot of paper work and as of today I still have not got a call back from the Police department. That is a good thing.

The officer told me I should see my permit in 30 days.

Do you have a carry piece? I'm waiting on a Crossbreed Super Tuck holster to get here for my Glock.

I plan on carry my dads 357 SIG. Or my S&W snob nose 38 special.

I have a Glock 33 357SIG. Just say it is a handful. Also have a Glock 23 in 40S&W that I carry sometimes. The 40 is much easier on the wallet for target practice. Great thing about the Glock is that they are modular with the exception of the 45ACP's. The 26, 27, and 33 are all the same size compacts. Have a 33, swap in a 27 barrel, and now you have a 40S&W. Swap in a 26 barrel and a magazine(cartiges are smaller), you now have a 9mm.

My 9mm is single stack 10 shot Russan "Norinco" and is very compact but is only easily carried in the belt holster and my S&W Airweight 38 detective special is actually lighter that the 6 hydroshock bullets it holds but is more bulky.I dont like my ole ladys 380 to much as I like a hammer on my wepons to let me know whats up.

I carry a Kimber 1911 Combat Carry.
7 rounds of .45 and the gun weighs around 23 OZ.
Conceals real good and packs a punch.

I carry a springfield xd compact 40, with 9 shots, on my side. I also carry a ruger lcp 380 with 6 shots. Both are very easy to hide.
