camper van
#1
I'm looking at an E350 with 7.3 to convert into a camper van. Has anybody done this? Has anyone towed a trailer behind an E350?

I've seen some E-350 conversion vans with the 7.3 and they look awesome. Was actually interested in one before I got my truck. Very plush and could be folded around on the inside for beds and other amenities. Sink, stove, etc. They sit on a 1T chassis with a receiver hitch on the back. I would think it would do just fine. We just have the Bronco on a 16ft flat trailer. About 6K lbs total. Should be very reasonable right now.

A local (smaller) dealer has 3 used vans for sale. 2 E250s, 02 and 03 models with 7.3, but high mileage....250K on one and 400K on the other...asking $4900 on phone which was down $2k from price in the paper. The 3rd van is an E350 4x4 with the Quigley set up, way cool but don't want a gas v8 for towing. I googled "converting van to camper" and there are some cool ideas out there, stealth campers and what not.

Van camping seems the right way to go for me. A step up from the tent and more affordable than a motor home and doubles as a tow vehicle to the local events.
