power steering
#1
so now my wife wants me to put power steering in the 69 that we have. i already have purchased a 4 turn ps box out of 78 f150 and the power steering pump and brackets. i still have to get a double groove crank and water pump pulley. i guess what my question is will i have to change the steering linkage underneath? if so should i just go with heim joint steering? i could go buy some dom tubing and buy heim joints and weld it up myself maybe save a few bucks? any help would be appreciated.
thanks
asiel
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a welder then your gonna need a new one!

I could take some pics of my setup if it would help or I can just show you at the beach blast. Did you get the 2 wheel drive box or the 4x4 box? I would recommend the 4x4x2 conversion whics is a 4x4 box with the 2 wheel drive guts. I went with a Saginaw pump. I made my steering links out of 1-1/8" 4140 round stock and heim joints. You will definitely need to keep your drag link and track bar lined up to prevent bump steer.
