I hate it when the caps fall of my spare u-joints or driveshafts; lose one needle bearing and it is doneski. The vendors do carry their own variations of u-joint savers but I thought there had to be a better, less expensive way.
Picked up a 2.5" inner tube from my local bike store for $6.99
Cut out a 2" wide section and used it like a big fat rubber band to keep the caps in place.
This tube will yield about 35 u-joint savers for the same price as 1 at the vendors.
It is cool because it's cheap, rugged, and I could care less if i lose one.
Enjoy!
