Uncle Sam just offered me 4 months pay if I agree to work 2 months straight. I'm a reservist so I usually work half as much as my full time active duty counterparts. Only problem is they cannot guarantee I will be around for NovRun. I am already slated for mid-Sept to mid-Oct and now they want to extend me to mid-Nov.
It's a gamble. NovRun is the one wheeling event I really look forward to every year. I've been working on my Bronco non-stop since April to get ready and am not sure I'm willing to risk missing it.
I guess the real question is am I willing to lose over $10,000 just to go to URE?
I know it is stupid to even consider passing this up, but I have to satisfy my rock addiction soon!
Ugh.
Rant complete.

I've missed two M&Gs and both my children's births due to military obligations. With that said, I have a brand new roof, new AC unit, new renovated garage, new Accord, new rifles, healthy children and an understanding wife. Trails rides come and go, missing one ride will suck but will fatten that back pocket. I might be very biased, but I'd be all over that opportunity! Looks good for promotion as well Captain!

Just think of it this way once your tour is over you have 10k to put towards the bronco for other things you need or want for it and you might still get to go to Nov run. If not there is always April for the super celebration. If you do end up missing it find some jeep guys and show them what a real 4x4 experience is like convert a few while your at it.

Unfortunately, not a dime will go to the Bronco. I have a long list of must do items at the house. I will stew about it this weekend and make my decision Monday. Perhaps with two events occuring during this time period (Tellico trip mid October and NovRun) I can make one of those and satisfy my craving. I dare consider the chances of me being gone for both. It will just require a whole lot of shady dealing to make it happen.
