What's up y'all, i picked up my bronco this summer. Right now I'm in Rhode Island, i just finished school up here, time to move back to NC in two weeks.
i was born in western MA, Adams to be specific. 20 mins from NY state and VT. we are the rednecks of MA, we despise boston and the kennedys. yes, i've ridden a snowmobile to the liquor store.
moved to NC when i was 7, was there 14 years, moved to RI to see if i really wanted to be back in new england...
yeah no. i can't wait to get back to the carolinas. i'm such a mutt, i'm yankee and southerner... i chose my southern side.
enough about that.
i bought a 68 bronco. i know very little about it's details right now, as i've seen it a few times, but i knew that $1100 for a bronco in this shape was a decent deal.
facts:
has hard and soft tops, both complete.
has power steering
still has 3sp
T-shift, obviously.
the original front and rear seats are still around.
has a rancho lift on it with 31/10.50-15s
dual gas tanks
Ford 9" and old D30 (w00t, and crud.)
supposedly
it has a 302... VIN says 289.
on with the pics:
these are all on the day i handed over the cash, it's not even at victoria and i's house yet. that's when i get back.
i can't wait to tear into it and get it goin.
it ran as of 7 years ago, it was parked cause it was eating batteries.
i'm gonna take the body clean off and blast, bondo and primer and maybe paint it.
in the mean time it'll get:
WH 2.5" lift, (with leafs)
NV3550,
twin stick,
power & front disc brake conversion,
aussie lockers,
33/12.50s,
Painless Wiring harness
regular distributor conversion?
in time it'll get FI.
that's all open to change, as plans always do.
it's gonna take a while, as that's a lotta money, but once it's together i want to just drive it, i don't want to be constantly messing with crap.
i'm an up and coming mechanic, so i'm incredbly excited about it.
after pimpin the wagon for a couple years after an 01 ZR2, i needed my manliness back! who woulda thought it'd be in a ford!?
other notes:
I have the 68 Bronco and a 1998 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon, 2.5L Boxer 4, 5 speed, AWD of course. Fun car, suprises everyone!
Victoria has: 1999 Civic LX, 5sp also, 1970 Ford Mustang notch
Her mother has a 97 mustang GT with only 30k
Her step father has a REAL 1967 Shelby GT500, a 71 Mach 1 and a few other bits. He's got the body shop and i'm the mechanic, this will go great.
i can't wait to meet you all, i love being part of a community, i hope to be a helpful member here, i'm used to forums, i've helped get one going as well as participated heavily in one with 160,000 members. i know every community is different, so if i do something dumb, keep me in check.
thanks, see y'all around!
