ECORS Class A race rig build - SC74 - 02-20-2011 Damn that thing is looking killer! I really like how the cage turned out. I wish I had lowered my seat in the crawler. We had to modify the top of the cage so it wasn't a head-hitter. Plus the fact I'm tall didn't help. ECORS Class A race rig build - scbronco - 02-21-2011 Good work on the cage Charles!!! Wish i could have been there to help with that, it looks like you guys are having a blast building that thing!!! ECORS Class A race rig build - snipes243 - 02-21-2011 Where's the daily update stinking school sucks or I would have been over there yesterday ECORS Class A race rig build - broncosbybart - 02-21-2011 Could have used you yesterday. Got quite a bit done. How is this for an update: Cage is about finished. I still have to work on the seat tubes, rear hoop for the shock mounts, and front hoop, but the main cage is fit, welded, and DONE!!! Here are some pics. What do you all (or y'all) say??? I won't say the word y'all, but I don't have much of an issue typing it... ECORS Class A race rig build - broncosbybart - 02-21-2011 The main hoop is tied directly to the frame rails with a few tubes and also to the rock sliders. ECORS Class A race rig build - broncosbybart - 02-21-2011 I tried to triangulate as much as I could. Wish I could roll it out and in easily. It would have made some better pictures that way. It doesn't roll too well... At least the big V-8 should motivate it pretty well. (Most others are running the wimpy 2.5 or 4.0 Heep engines). This is what was in it. Anyone need a cage before it goes for scrap??? That is about it for the update. Got plenty to do, but done for today!! ECORS Class A race rig build - Crawdad - 02-21-2011 I may be interested in the roll bar! Price or trade? ECORS Class A race rig build - broncosbybart - 02-21-2011 It won't work if you have a windshield. The bends in the front hoop are too shallow... Nick and I hope to work together on our cages this coming spring/ summer. He has a bender and I have a plasma cutter and plan to get a notcher. By having ur cage, one of us will be half way to having a roll cage installed. Cutting the "A" pillar would be easy to do. Nick's bender can add more bars to urs. Charles is right that the current state of it would prevent reuse in anything with a top and a windshield. dont worry though, there's plenty of steel at the supply yard, and trust me, we will both be much happier with fresh steel and our own design. |
