I think your oil filter is overdue for a change.

Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with T2.

Thanks Clay. All my plans to push the engine back were killed due to rear driveshaft length. The motor is very near the firewall but 3" forward of where I planned for it to be. Oh well.

That oil filter is still the orig one before I tore the motor apart. Just sitting in place for mock up. Gotta get that and a fuel filter too amongst a small fortune of other things.

And the finished pieces, tack welded together. Engine removal and finish welding to come. At least for now it is sitting in the truck under it's own weight. The nose went down a fair bit under the weight of the engine. Between it and the front winch and bumper that will go on it, she might need to get some new rear springs with less lift to make it sit level.

The engine hoist is still hooked up, but no weight is on the chain. Wahoo!

Nice work and I thought my modding of a mount to move the crossmember for the trans was a big project, guess I know who to call for help lol.

Ghost busters?

Thanks guys. Cross member fab is overrated.

Got some more work done. I filled the remainder of the holes from the old 8 lug studs on the rear hubs. Pounded the new studs in for the 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

Next, the old rear axle came out and the 14 bolt is now loosely set in place for mock up.

Looking great Charles! Might come visit ya over the holidays!

did you turn down the hubs yourself? Have you done the front also?

Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 12-17-2014

Jim 'Cheech' Garde at Cheech's Creative Concepts did the machine work. He's an old timer ex-nascar guy and is not the cheapest but he knows his stuff! The front axle is a Dynatrac and is already set up 5x5.5

Next order of business was to put the outer wheel bearings in the hubs, then the stupid snap ring, and after that the inner wheel bearing and grease seal. The bearings all get removed and installed from the inside face of the hub. I guess I forgot to get a pic of the axle with the hubs on. Will try and do that. I have some work to do on the brake mounts. The ones I have are straight (flat piece of metal) and they won't work as is. More to come soon.

What knuckles do the dynatracs use? What brake setup are you running f&r?
