Not too bad for pulling this concept out of my butt now is it.He He.Now not to warp it when it gets welded back together with 40,000 spot welds. As long as I keep you away from the grinder I should be good. Smile

Thanks JP and Mike! It's going to be fun finding room for things now such as battery and remote cooler/fans.

How you boys making those pretty straight cuts in that hood???? Is that trick photography??

Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - 744x4 - 10-26-2008

a thin cutoff wheel in a 4.5 in grinder following the tape line.It isnt easy but it isnt that hard either it just wants to jump out of the cut.I would show you but them I would have to kill you.He He.Like I said before as long as I keep Robert away from the grinder it is all good.He has overgrinding issues.

Got a set of 5.5" Cage Progressive rate coils from Karl and swapped them out last night. It lowered it 2" and it looks a lot better now! I'm hoping that once I add the cage, fluids, battery, etc. it'll settle another inch.

The hood is 95% done! All we lack is cutting the overlap in the front out - it overlaps about an inch.

We welded the nose-piece on, then welded the rear support on. We had a little trimming on each side but that was easy since we could run the cut-off wheel down the edge of the framework. There may be just a little more fine tune grinding to do, but we got it close enough to put on the truck to check the body lines. There should be aprox. 1/4" body line on each side when it's bolted back on. I have plenty of clearance without the scoop but will probably end up cutting the brace out that runs front to back.
