Glad it all came to gether for ya. I have wired several relays using the ground as the switched source. What you can do is put an indicator (led) that is powered up all the time and grounds when the switch turns the locker on. Didnt know that company went out of busness, sucks.

got a good bit done on the 77 today...

removed the old 5-1/4" speakers and home made boxes that were mounted to the kicker panels. last time we were at LKQ we found a set of speakers from a late model explorer. so i painted them up and mounted them in the lower kick panels.

shawn hooked me up with some small 3.5" kicker mid/tweets...so my buddy at work made some small boxes for the fender wells.

decided to modify the original wiper cover to work with the dropped wiper bracket and roll cage. all thats left is to pick up some plastic paint. also frenched in a LED right in the middle where the visor arms come together. dont have a pic of that yet

and sprayed some primer on the windshield frame...now it matches the rest lol

Chuck - What are you going to do with the old 5-1/4" speakers? I was planning on buying some cheapos on ebay tomorrow but if you have some to get rid of let me know.

No problem. Is that all you had before was 2 5-1/4's? that's what I'm planning for in the crawler - not that I need an award winning sound system but I don't want all treble. Did they sound ok by themselves?

the 77's upgrades - blazinchuck - 03-11-2012

yeah, i had those 5-1/4's and a small amp powering a 10 or 12"(dont remember) sub...amp had a crossover built in to only send base to sub.

no amp for the 5" speakers(just radio) and that worked great. you shouldnt have any issues with just 2 5-1/4's. depending on how ya mount them, you can still get some good base.

The painted wind shield frame is definitely an improvement. I'm going to copy that wiper motor cover mod for sure, very cool. Those speaker boxes are nice also. How's the sound at highway speeds compared to the old set up?

Looks great Chuck! :xyxthumbs:

My list "to do" list just got longer, damn you!Confusedupergrin:

thanks to chuzie for his help last night. we got the tranny yanked, new pressure plate installed, and everything reinstalled. clutch seems to work a lot better now.

plans for tomorrow are...

relocate LP fuel pump(to make room for OBA) install a fuel accumulator, bigger fuel filter.

install a set of dual air tanks, i made mounting brackets friday along with a diamond plate skid plate. cant wait to get my OBA working again!!!
