Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 01-18-2015 I think he should. You might want to get up with him soon as he just did it and it is still fresh in his memory. I did have to drill the upper track bar mount hole out to 3/4" and had to grind a few misalignment spacers down to make it all nice and snug. The lower mount is an old piece of heim steering bar that got all bent up from abuse. Nice having a $300 steering linkage that turns to scrap over time... It was already threaded 3/4x16 so I cut it down and tacked it in place. It will be getting beefed up and reinforced with some 1/4" steel plate. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 01-20-2015 Since Clay was asking about rear shock mounts, figured I'd show these off. Made them out of 2" angle iron. Since the rear axle is 65" wide, these are able to work so that the fender wells don't need to be cut out. The band saw comes in handy for sure! Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 01-20-2015 That was them mocked up with a 2" body lift. After a little figuring, it was apparent that a 1" body lift would work and would lower it down some. So, I beat the mounts off and cut a fair bit of the 'lip' off the bottom of the inner fenders where they meet against the bed floor. Got the new body lift under it and relocated the mounts and welded it all up! Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - snipes243 - 01-20-2015 Looks good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - chuzie - 01-20-2015 Is the tube bender broken? That looks like it was a lot of work dude. Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with the older / better version of Tapatalk! Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - BucknEB - 01-22-2015 Dang! Nice angle iron sculpture. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 01-27-2015 I wanted to use the angle iron to keep the shocks as close to the body and away from the tires as I could. A tube would have added at least another 1.5" toward the tire. As it sits right now the upper mount is as close to the inner fender as I can get it. Got a little more work done on it. Chris at Mars Fab used some dimensions I gave him and CNC plasma cut out a bracket for a rear support ring for the transfer case. It turned out perfect and only needed a little cleaning with the flap disc. I cut a slot in the top of it to act as a pinch point and welded two sleeves to the top and ran a bolt through them. The lower part got some DOM tube and a set of poly bushings and inner sleeve for a through bolt. Then I fabbed a cross member to mount the ring to. I think I will make the traction bar mount to the same crossmember when I get that far. While I was there, I got the shifter for the low range planetary on the transfer case hooked up to check the fit and function. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - Bronco Biff - 01-28-2015 Pretty slick. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - chuzie - 01-28-2015 Agreed. What are you looking at for ratios? Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with the older / better version of Tapatalk! Ms Piggy.
