Since I have no inner fenders we had to come up with a platform to secure the mass air and air filter. We made some tabs off of the shock hoop. Later we ended up adding some Adel clamps on this same platform to route the fuel lines.

The last thing that we worked on today was a battery mount. I ordered this Optima tray off of e-bay - Chuck recommended it to me :xyxthumbs:
It did not take long to figure out that there was no room for the battery in the front corner. It was either in the way of the headlight bucket or if I raised it then the alternator was in the way. With the narrowed front end there just wasn't any room to fit it.
The old heater intake place on the cowl looked like a good place - I had to take the wiring harness out from where we had it going through the firewall, but I can move that over. After a little measuring, cutting, and welding.... I like it
upergrin: I'll end up riveting the square frame to the cowl and making a cover to go over the battery all of the water from the hood vent doesn't come in the passenger floor.

One more picture ... Fox 16" emulsion coilovers. I got these off of ebay - have only been mounted on a buggy project and never used. They came with the one spring but it's too light for what I need so I still need to order springs.

Nick - Hopefully I won't be bumming a ride with you at the next Fawl Crawl! It will definitely be done by Fawl Crawl, but realistically shooting for early to mid summer. I should have it together and drivable before then, but saving the $$ for gears & lockers is another story. I figure I'll get it at least drivable and then I can work on the body work & painting while I save for gears & lockers.

I can understand saving for gears and lockers - been there done that. I was hoping to get mine painted one color agian this winter, but it doesn't look too likely now. The Crawl seems like its a long way away, but it always sneaks up on you. You're always welcome to bum a ride, but would also like to see you in you're own rig

I went to the garage with plans to only clean and get my tools organized since they've gotten scattered everywhere the past few weekends.
The dash was in the way... where do I put it?.. more like what can I do to it

upergrin: After reversing the glove box and speaker grill, I also cut a piece of sheet metal to fill the ash tray space.
