WOW! I just learned something too! I would've bet you money that the oil level would NOT have been the problem... interesting. Thanks for schooling us!

Good news! Always best to start with the obvious, but as you described I would have been in left field.

Diesel Problem - 66stocker - 06-10-2009

Wow, I didn't think of the oil level.
The injectors are hydraulic and run off a 3000 psi high pressure oil pump.
Low oil ... no pressure ... no injectors.

Glad you found the problem and it was such an easy fix!

Yea, me too!! I had already spent about $350 in my mind and wasn't sure that was going to be all!! It's nice to know that there are still some good honest mechanics around. His name is James Ellison AKA Cotton. I will use him everytime I need diesel help! :xyxthumbs:

Thats whay the oil change is so important in the 7.3L's.Dirty oil will do the same thing.Buck up and change the oil you cheap Bastards.:thefinger:

Kinda like my buddy letting me use his truck (F350 4d SRW) to go to FL to drop off a Kawasaki Mule on my trailer and pick up his EB for him and forgetting to tell me the speedo was off 10 mph due to the 35's on it and I run 80-85 mph down there (actually 90-95) and wondeering why I got 10 mpg and passed everything moving.Good thing he paid the fuel oil bill and I didnt get pulled over.

Yeah, I don't think I'd be smart enough to realize I was passing everything but a gas station, either..... I've only been driving for 30 years or so.
course on I95 thats about the speed limit any way.
