My first guess is that the backlash may have been too tight. The backlash or free travel allows the oil to climb the ring gear cooling and lubricating the gear set.

My friend, who is a local mechanic and 4x4 enthusiast, will help me with the re-install.
$300 to the door. Gears and install kit. And thats with a lifetime warranty now. So if this happens again I ship it back to Randy's R&P and get a new set!!
