i have built houses and done a ton of remodeling. i have always done "side work" in that area. none of this is really new to me. the trailer part yes, but the demolition no

I dont mind doing this type of stuff. it keeps me busy.

Did a little more tear out today. got the counter fully removed. got some fans to help the dry out. I was hoping to not remove the fridge and that cabnet, but I found some soft floor and im not going to halfass it now. I removed the water heater. ther was a bunch of trash that came out of it so a new one might be in order. we will see. i also removed the fridge and furnace. i taped over the holes just to keep some water out. i have to tear up 2 sections of the floor. im unsure if i will tear up the entire sheets or cut and repair damage. tearing up the staples stinks.

i have to let everything dry and see how much of the lower exterior walls need repair. i know there is some for sure. I think im going to do like a 20" diamond plate rock guard all the way around and up 3' on the front. that way I can cut and remove the "skin" of the trailer about 16" up from the bottom where i have to repair. glue the "skin" back on and seal it. Then come back and put the diamond plate on by squishiing into silicone and using screws at the studs. I will use .063 sheet so it wont add a lot of weight. there would be more to it than that with trim etc but i think i have it worked out .

Geez! Did you think the water damage would be as bad as it looks in the pics? I bet most campers have a lot of unknown damage to them. Keep it up and keep the pics coming.

The Love shack - Badass - 03-07-2010

I actually figured this much damage/work when i got it. I spent quite a bit of time looking it over with Dean and John. Im going to get the rest of the floor tore up tomorow and then start repairing bad floor joices (sp). if i wasnt going to do the diamond plate the repair would be a lot more involved. luckily im not going to have to repair the "skin" back to perfect and i have some ideas to help moisture control. every camper i have ever looked at had some water issues if you know where and how to look for them. at least i know this one will be solid when im done.

If you ever go to sell it you'll be able to honestly say that it was repaired the RIGHT way and it will bring much more money than you paid for it, even after you use it :xyxthumbs:

The Love shack - Badass - 03-07-2010

that was the plan. i usually dont keep things long. i always think resale value.
