fdezone Wrote:Yeah, but she looks more hardcore than she is. We'll see how the stock D44 holds up with 37s. I'm hoping that sticking to my philosophy of 3 attempts and bypass will continue to work for me.

You remeber this cold day? Pick 1 you were balancing on two (pic doesn't do the angle justice, pic 2 was when I said "say PUCKER!" Had a little issue at first that day getting the ARB's to hook, but after that it was "no holds barred" Jan 18 '09 at Crozet.

Spicer 760s/31-spline Curries with ARBs front & rear. I rely on good lines and spotters, going light on the skinny pedal, allowing the gears to do the work, not cutting the steering too hard, 3 attempts (same line) and bypass, blah, blah, blah. Usually just run Lower & Upper Blues and Low Blacks at Crozet, VA. Only breakage has been shearing the ears on the 9" yoke during a club comp, which was a timed event. I applied too much skinny pedal and it was raining (slippery). Only wheel maybe 2-6 times a year.

One can't forget being exposed to those extreme temperatures! What were we thinking? Didn't you get lost getting there... in the dark? Good times for sure.

I have very few pics of my rig wheeling. As a former PAO for the RCPFA, I was usually the one taking the pics and shooting the videos.

I recall nearly rolling her twice at Crozet. Once was up hill with Spring Rockers and another was descending down a wet and muddy slope with the lockers engaged. $hit my pants on both occasions! I need to be more careful on the bunny trails.

For those considering performing a dovenose or dovetail, I did a short write up on Page 2 of the link below.

Yes, I funally found the place after buggin' you to death while you were trying to get your doors on by yourself so that you could be warm while drivin' there! That was the slippery decent time....
