Yeah I know, but something keeps nagging at the back of my mind saying the motor is wrong for the truck. For some reason I kept thinking I would have to change the tranny too.

Maybe it's just my CRS kicking in again.

Either a 302 or 351W, but if you don't have one and need to buy one I'd do the 351W. There's no replacement for displacement. They're not nearly as plentiful as a 302 but they can be found. I've bought and rebuilt two 351W's in the last three years. Good buildable blocks (get everything you can with it, dizzy, intakes, brackets and pulleys, everything you can think of cause you'll need it sooner or later. Check the oil pan cause a car oil pan and pickup will not work on a Bronco, hits the crossmember) can be found for $100-$150.

Having said all that I just put a new 302 in my 89 Bronco, but I got the motor in a parts truck and then sold what I didn't need and got my money back. :lol:
