I put a $100 pioneer from WalMart in My 77F100 and it has given me trouble free service for going on 7 years now.

I've never had a Dual player...but for the same amount of money, even less, you can get a bottom of the line Sony/Pioneer/Kenwood/Alpine/etc.

In fact, I just recently put a $120 Alpine deck in my wife's Camry and Best Buy was running some kind of a special that the deck came with a free $30 Ipod cable.

I will have to check that out. I am probably going to best buy this weekend to pick something up. I am all about inexpensive.. I used to run only Sony highend stuff in my thumpin days.. I can't even remember what the line was but I spent big bucks on those things. I can't decide if I want to put a subbox in or not.

I was partial to Clarion back in the day. Now I have a very old Clarion in the F250 and Toggle switches in the bronco where the radio once was. This seems to be some what of a theme here. Smile I am thinking about putting water proof speakers in the BB and some sort of a head unit most likely from a junk yard. Later.

I liked Clarion too.. I am thinking of building something in the center console for all the toggle switches.. Of course I need the accessories for all of the switches but that's where I am thinking of putting them... Not 100% on that though. Smile

I've found that an adequately powered single 12" sub will put out plenty of bass to keep me satisfied. I too had my thumping days when I was in HS and ran 4 12" Boston Pro series subs and powered them with 2 1000W RF amps.

I've been considering the same thing in my Bronco (single 12" sub, 300-400W amp) and I can get about everything (sub, amp, box, wiring) for about $350-400.

Thats awesome. I used to run a Boston Pro 10" with an RF Punch 40 down to 2ohms and it harder than one my friends dual 12"s made him sick. Of course I paid as much for the 1 10" as he did for his 12"s and his box. I used to run JL Audio stuff too. 4 12"s that's sick. One of the guys I hung out with owened his own sound shop and he had an Astro Van with 32 12"s and I think 10,000Watts. That was sick and painful.

I may find a good quality 10" and stick it back there. I don't even know who makes good stuff anymore. I assume JL still does I know they make one heck of a awesom home Sub.

JL, Audiobahn, Visionik, Boston, Infinity all make good stuff....I was never impressed with the RF speakers, and it doesn't help that everybody and their mama runs them.

Well I ended up picking up the Dual that I was looking it at. It has a bluetooth adapter but of course I am struggling with it. Not sure what I am doing wrong. The unit is pretty nice. Sounds pretty good. Has plenty of power and out puts. I almost picked up an Infinity sub that is the all in one deal Amp/enclosure/driver all in a convienient small package. I think I am going to look around the net and see what I can find it for. There is not a lot of low end on the factory speakers. Smile

Yeah I think I know what you're referring to, Crutchfield sells them and they usually have decent prices.

When I had my thumping days back in high school my system was a Sparkomatic power-booster under the dash feeding an am/fm/cassette. The sparkomatic even had these little knobs that made it sound different. lol Oh, I had FOUR 6x9 speakers. 2 in the doors and 2 in my homemade console. LOL Am I telling my age?
