I've got the parts to swap from 5 lug to 8 from a '78/9 F250. The knuckles are the same, but spindle, caliper bracket, caliper, hub, rotor are different...

If we bought a F250 D44 we would just stay with the 8 bolt stuff, rims are cheap and easy.

So what years F150 had the welded on Wedges?
1977? I found an excellent donor for $500
I could use tires, wheels, body parts, interior it all looks good yet.

Or a '76? One here with not as many good parts for $400.

Or is that still too new?

Thanks again guys.

the 76 will have drums and a 77 will have disc. the 78 and up will have cast wedges. I think the 77 will have the thickest axle tubes also..mine are 1/2 wall thickness. 76-77 weld on wedges,HTH,Chuck

76 do have disc brakes.maybe not all of them but the ones ive stripped have had disc. 76/77 both are weld on c wedges. hp44
67" wms to wms thick axle tube.

note: the only reason for the thicker axle tube was because the c wedges were being welded on. the heat from being welded required thicker steel tube.
