Thanks George. We just used a cut-off wheel and took our time - used tape to mark a straight cut.

We worked on it all day today and got a lot done.

We cut the donor fender wells out of our mock-up EB that we use for roll cage fitting etc. We got both fender wells extended to the rear of the truck. There were some large open spaces that we had to add some sheet metal to and make the flat fender transition. We were able to keep the same angles as the stock and they should tie in well to the angled body line in the tailgate.

Here is a pic of the direction we are heading with the new tailgate support framework. We'll re-use all of the stock latches, hinge, etc.

Cut the tailgate into 3 pieces today Confusedupergrin: The tailgate is only sitting on some 2x4's in the pic so it's not the right height, but good enough for a pic.

The 2x2 angle iron will serve as the new hinge and latch support. It's burned in and is very stout. Now the aggravating work trying to get all of the bolt holes drilled and get everything to line up.
