Black and Blue! - wepuckett - 02-26-2016 So does that mean even if you have to skipp a few steps it will make it to Super Cel or sooner then that? Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - ParadisePWoffrD - 02-26-2016 Looking good. Can you reach the arb switches strapped in? If not, I would move them to the center console. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 02-27-2016 Yes- SHE'S ALIVE!!! Thanks for the help last night Clay. We got the the cam broken in (it was reground and polished during the rebuild) and hung the door last night. There was a small puddle under the oil pan after we finished running it. Closer inspection revealed diesel fuel. It turned out to be coming from the metal return rail. It has a split somewhere under the tab attached to it, toward the middle of the return line. I'm sure that rail costs a fortune, so I'm hoping to get it TIG welded. Got it torn off of the engine today, which did entail removal of the injector lines and some other stuff. Got the quarter guards cut to work with the fender flares and the upper quarter guards and they are in place. Other than painting the guards, they're about done. The exhaust is removed, to be finish welded, and the doors are being assembled too but I'll need to order some parts for them before they can get finished. Slow and steady. I'd really love to put the ARB switches in the console and had originally laid the wires out to do that, but there is no room for them there either. They aren't in an ideal spot but I can reach them if I stretch. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - broncosbybart - 03-06-2016 Time for a little update. The armor for the quarter guards is painted and installed. The BC soft top does not use all the original mounting holes in the bedrail, so the ones that weren't used now have some countersunk 1/4" bolts in them to keep the quarter guards in place when the soft top is off. Doors are hung in place and pretty well assembled with new window tracks and all. I'm in the process of installing the soft top and fitting it around the door openings. At least it's a lot easier to work with than a hard top is. Instructions and hardware included with the top were pretty lacking. Ended up using a lot of stainless hardware and it is close to being 'assembled'. The tabs for the door opening areas did get modified with the dremel tool a bit as the top is sitting higher than it should due to the quarter guard thickness. Took the exhaust and the return fuel rail up to Chris at Mars Fab in Harrisburg. He got it all TIG'd up and I haven't noticed the return rail leaking any since. Did I mention that he can weld??? Super guy that does AWESOME work! And I took her for a maiden voyage up and down the driveway. Foamy PS fluid came spewing out as soon as I shut it off. Thought it was pretty well bled. Guess not. Bleeding the system has really not been fun BUT, she moves! Man, this color blue looks 1000% better in person than in pics. Very deceiving. Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - chuzie - 03-06-2016 Haha u funny guy thinking u r gonna remove and install the bc top on a regular basis like a normal softie. Ask chuckles why his never comes off. Sent from my GS3 on Cyanogenmod with the older / better version of Tapatalk! Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - Broncitis - 03-06-2016 Nice work on that Mall Crawler. LOL Are ya thinking about bringing it to the March work day for a shake down on the trails before heading to Tennessee? Ms Piggy. Black and Blue! - snipes243 - 03-06-2016 Looks good is it quieter now that the exhaust is fully welded? |
