The Love shack - Badass - 03-07-2010 Got the rest of the bad floor tore out. found out there is an outside shower! sweet. i cut off the lower portion of the back to repair some stuff. i have one or two more areas to cut out and i think i got to all the rotten wood. I need to remove the slide soon. maybe after it gets done raining on thurs or friday. sooner if i had some help to get it out. I also started removing the interior paneling about 22" up from the floor. I want to add aditional stringers of wood at the top of where the diamond plate will be on the outside and double up the studs where two pieces are going to meet. its slow going at this point. i have to clean everything up good. what really sucks is they ran the flooring under the exterior side walls so im going to have to clean all that out well and do something else. I dont think it will be too bad once i get it all out and can start rebuilding it. I actually spent 111 at lowes today for supplies. first money i have spent on it so far. The Love shack - Badass - 03-08-2010 Did a little actual repair today one for Tim dont pay attention to the cut out wall compaired to the new one. my cut on the wall was not level. i also found that none of the striping is level. im going to have to peel it all off or you will see it in relation to the diamond plate. i made all the footers 2 or three times what they were spanning the steel supports on the frame. also started taking the slider apart to see how to get it out. The Love shack - medwards01 - 03-09-2010 Eric, nice progress on the repairs. I see you have the right tools for the job. Those Dewalt cordless tools are awesome. I worked for Black & Decker from January 1987 to September 1997. One of the smartest marketing moves B&D ever made was applying the Dewalt name to portable power tools. I was part of the Dewalt project team when the first tools were introduced in 1991. I have a shop full of them myself. Man, I really miss working for Black & Decker and all the freebies we used to get (customer returns, engineering samples, etc.) Anyway, since I am no longer involved in manufacturing those awesome tools, I'll have to make do with the next best thing....selling them at Lowe's. Keep those pictures coming as work on the "Love Shack" progresses. We are all anxious to see the finished project. Or, it may become like most of our Broncos and become a perpetual project which consumes our lives....:xyxthumbs: The Love shack - Badass - 03-09-2010 medwards01 Wrote:Or, it may become like most of our Broncos and become a perpetual project which consumes our lives....:xyxthumbs:Gosh...I serioulsy hope not!! i remembered why i dont do a lot of home resto or remodeling anymore. trying to fix one issue leads to 5 more... The Love shack - shawnboymoody - 03-09-2010 Looking good Eric. The Love shack - Badass - 03-13-2010 The Love shack - Badass - 03-14-2010 The Love shack - Badass - 03-15-2010 Got some more done. skimmed all the joints with short hair fiberglass, sanded and painted everything with oil based deck paint. I still have to cut out all the holes for the appliances and storage doors etc. I just wanted to get it waterproof ie. no exposed wood. Cut out the walls in the bedroom put in spanners for the diamond plate, insulation and scabbed back in the wall paneling. Im going to waynes coat and chair rail the whole room. started framing the support for the bed. I raised it up so i can fit those blue plastic tubs underneath for storage. another coat or two of paint and cut outs and the exterior is ready for the diamond plate. it should be in to eastern metals early next week. I still have to redo the exterior sheeting on the slide. |
