Ok, hadn't done much lately. Started tearing into a Trac-lok rear diff to rebuild it. Gotta order some new springs/clutches.

Here are a few shots of the welded frame. Kinda looks like it is leperous.

Here is the start of fabbing some radius arm mounts for the frame. Gonna cut out 4 pieces, reinforce them and weld it all together. They are being made from 1/4" plate.

While I am here, it looks like the rear cross member is going to be in the way for the relocated rear axle. Might as well cut it out and make some new cross members from 1.75" DOM.

Right now the frame is pretty well cleaned off and about ready to start having all the mounts welded back on it.

Well, that is about all for now folks. We are getting ready to travel for the Christmas holiday. Everyone have a Merry Christmas. Check back in around the first of the new year!!

Thanks all. I can't wait for it to be done myself. Be waiting a while for that. Got a few grilles, a t-case, and some misc brake lines for it this morning up here. We are supposed to get about a foot of snow up here in the great white north.

OK, so I have a question or two for you all:

First, I am debating on using a stock EB rear spring setup or running a FSB or F-150 spring (they are longer and are supposed to flex more). Any thoughts on that? Anyone have a junk frame I could buy some spring hangers off of? It would take forever at the pull it yard, trying to do it by hand without a cutting wheel.

Next, I am debating on running 31 spline axles over the stock 28 spline. Main reason being that my 28 splines need wheel bearings and seals (about $100) and new axles are $250. I would need to see if I can modify my carrier for 31 spline axles. Anyone do it before? I need to measure the carrier to see if I have enough meat on to machine out to accept a 31 spline axle diameter. I really want to run a trac-lok in the back. They are very hard to find it seems.

Ha! I just threw my set of hangars away last month. Bad timing.

31 spline is a no-brainer in this situation. No experience with the conversion though.

Thanks for the post Chuzie. Actually, I needed to clarify- Full size spring hangers, not EB.
