well...its running! but, running like chit!!!! ive got codes...alternator is not being turned on via rjm harness. starts up great, sounds good for a minute...then starts surging so bad it almost shuts off

the 77's upgrades - broncosbybart - 03-18-2011

that sucks. any idea as to why it isn't running right?? looks like you've been busy Smile

the 77's upgrades - firefighter2134 - 03-19-2011

that doesnt make sense. you used the same harness outta fbg right?

the 77's upgrades - chuzie - 03-19-2011

Sent you a long email. Get back with me; will do what I can from here.

the 77's upgrades - blazinchuck - 03-21-2011

aight, i swapped a couple relays and got this thing charging and running.

however, yesterday...went to go out in the bronco...and it wont take any throttle past 1500rpm. just bogs! dont know where to look now

very tired of this crap

My first thought would be fuel. Make sure your return line is unrestricted back to the tank. Make sure there is not a negative pressure in the tank. Try pulling off the gas cap and see what happens. What are you using for a fuel pump? Same injectors as before?

If the low end loping was fixed with the alternator I guess we can eliminate vacuum lines as the culprit.

Run a compression check.

Here is my troubleshooting tree....

Poor High Speed Operation

Low fuel pump volume Faulty pump or restricted fuel lines or filters

Poor MAP sensor signal Test MAP sensor, vacuum hose and wiring

Poor Oxygen sensor signal Test for shorted or open sensor or circuit

Open coolant temperature Test sensor and sensor circuit wiring

Faulty ignition operation Check wires for cracks or poor connections,
test secondary voltage with oscilloscope

Contaminated fuel Test fuel for water or alcohol

Intermittent ECM ground Test ECM ground connection for resistance

Restricted air cleaner Replace air cleaner

Restricted exhaust system Test for exhaust manifold back pressure

Poor MAF sensor signal Check leakage between sensor and manifold

Poor VSS signal If tester for ALCL hook-up is available check that VSS
reading matches speedometer

Have you run another self test on the EEC?

ok...KOER(12,21,94,44,33) KOEO(81,82,85,84)

l swapped out the MAF and fuel pump relays with new replays. i cant slowly bring engine up in rpms...but can not stab the throttle
