DaBus is down... - JayT - 08-12-2011 Ah, totally misread that... I'll unplug #6 to see if that's bringing down all my injectors. Both batts are less than a year old, so they ought to be fine... Just seem low to me. We'll see what they have when cranking. DaBus is down... - JayT - 08-12-2011 Oof... 9v when cranking... on the charger they go... DaBus is down... - JayT - 08-12-2011 I can't win... only half charged, and now the rain is coming down! have to unplug the charger. guess we'll trickle it overnight (as long as no rain) and see if it starts tomorrow. DaBus is down... - broncomatt - 08-12-2011 should have 12.5 or so, it would have to be around 9.6 or less to not start. Not sure if the ecm has to be programed for the keys, but have you check for codes again? How about the ohms on that #6 injector? You realy cant check the starter draw with a basic meter, should spin fast though. DaBus is down... - JayT - 08-12-2011 Yeah Matt, it was just under 9.0... no codes. You think leaving the batteries unhooked lost the programming for my anti-theft keys? I haven't touched anything injector-wise yet. waiting on batteries to charge. Man, I hope that this does it. I don't mind waiting on trickle charge, but I just wanna know! Seems strange that anything else is bad, since it ran great onto/off trailer and the only thing done between then and now was repairing the FICM. DaBus is down... - broncomatt - 08-12-2011 Disconecting the batt wont erase the programing, not sure if repairing (reflashing) ficm will erase the keys. Its been a long time since I worked at ford, but on a nissan any time you replace the ECM you have to reprograme the keys. I would let it charge and try again. If the keys were erased it should have set a security code in the ecm. DaBus is down... - JayT - 08-12-2011 nah, ECM and FICM two different pieces... just went out an tried again... Anti-theft light is "normal", indicating that it "sees" my key. dang... thought you were onto something. we'll see how the charge goes. (course I just killed the charge by trying a few times - I have no patience right now) DaBus is down... - blazinchuck - 08-12-2011 does your changer not a have a fast charge or start option? DaBus is down... - firefighter2134 - 08-12-2011 when my sis' batterys went in her superduty hers would spin really fast but would barely start. her passenger side battery was shot. 2 winters ago when my batterys took a dump mine would turn over really slow but didnt take much to fire it off. my driver side battery was shot. a diesel shop explained to me that the second battery on the drivers side is to help spin the engine over. and the main battery on passenger side runs all the electronics. doesnt make sense but may be true. DaBus is down... - blazinchuck - 08-12-2011 this is true Asiel...these and other trucks are still 12V systems(mostly military vehicles were 24V diesels) |
