Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - 744x4 - 11-27-2011 It doesnt get tippy like it did before from watching as He rode over one of the Piles in the yard and it just Flexed. It only has 5 Gallons of Fuel in it so it isnt at actual ride Height yet and the 8274 and the Front Bumper arent on it either so the front will settle a Little also. Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 11-27-2011 SO much better. It is a true 2" lower...doesn't sound like much but it feels like more. I couldn't get any traction on the soil pile b/c I don't even have the front driveshaft in for 4wd and the one tire spinning was the one without any weight on it. Gears & Lockers coming soon mokin: Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - broncosbybart - 03-06-2012 you going to have that thing done and riding for the meet and greet/URE run at the end of the month?? just weld those spiders up and get-r-dun. Keith and I have been getting some work done on it though. The wiring is 100% done - even all of the loose ends! I need to re-work the radiator mounts but have a plan, just need to fab it up. The front 8274 bumper is under construction now. Still waiting on the gears and lockers but they are sooner than later! I also have some heat shield that I need to put in a few places. Slowly but surely making progress on it upergrin: Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 03-25-2012 Keith came over and we worked on the front bumper. I have the 8274 torn down to pieces and fortunately it was in great shape so just needs a good cleaning and re-assembly. Here are a few pics of the front bumper that came together today. What did we ever do without a plasma cutter - so much easier and faster than a cut-off wheel or torch. Still need to add a few gussets and some clevis mounts, but you get the idea. Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 03-25-2012 Also still deciding whether or not to take some of the "meat" out of the winch plate where the blue tape is. Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - broncosbybart - 03-25-2012 bumper looks great! the plasma is a wonderful invention, for sure. Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - Patrick.M - 03-26-2012 lookin good Robert! Thanks for your help today btw Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 04-11-2012 Front and rear axles are set-up. Still need to add gear lube to both (had to modify the RuffStuff front covers - the bolt pattern wasn't exactly right and not easy modifying 3/8" thick holes). Just cleaned the front shafts up and need to put joints in and install them tomorrow after work. Hoping to get windshield installed tomorrow also. Still need to finish front bumper and re-building winch. Had to send my front shaft off to Carolina Driveline since changing my suspension. I plan on getting a different yoke for the t-case to allow more angle for the 10-11" of droop I will have. It's coming together! Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 04-13-2012 Axles complete! Windshield in! Took it for a 3 mile test drive and ran great upergrin: |
