Some more about how I did it.

I pulled the rams apart. In these pics you can see the pieces:

1.125" Shaft w/ clevis, end cap, piston, and 3/4-16" nut.
Rods 7/16"
Body 1.99" ID, 2.375" OD, 12" long.

I trimmed the threads on each shaft to 7/16" long and threaded the 2 shafts opposing into a 7/8" wide nut.

I then stuffed it back into the body and reinstalled the end caps, clevis, and tie-rods.

Current travel is 8.125". If I minimize the spacing between the pistons or use a longer tube, I should be able to get 10" of travel. I don't need that unless I upgrade the shafts.

Spent some time trying to package the panhard. Originally had it in front of the axle in a traditional location, but couldn't fit the steering there also. Decided to move it to the rear of the axle. Everything is very tight.

Haven't had much time lately, but I got most of the welding done on the axle.

Ended up having to ditch the double ended ram for now, as it didn't fit like I wanted. Ill use it for something else. Also, that was as high as I could get the tierod and clear the frame at full bump. It will be .250 wall, so it should be fine. Ford arms are higher than Chevy's.

Looks good. Sucks that you couldn't get the double-ended ram to fit. You going to have it ready for the SHOP ride, or are you taking something else out there?

Homebuilt SxS - snipes243 - 06-02-2016

Suck on the double ended ram. Can't wait to see this baby done.

I wont have it ready for the SHOP ride this month. My goal was Dixie Run but I found out I cant make that. Im currently in the process of closing on a house, so moving and house projects will consume my time for the next few months. It's taken long enough that I want to get it done, but am also not going to rush it.

Thanks me too. It's been too long for me out of the driver's seat.
