Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - jollygrngiant - 08-21-2008 Thats looking awesome Robert!!! Thanks for the pics!! Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - redsblue73 - 08-21-2008 Hey Robert things are looking great!.....finally got a chance to check out your thread.......keep the posts coming! Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 08-26-2008 Thank ya'll for the compliments - they definitely help keep me motivated! Tonight I introduced Mr. Jigsaw to the floor  I am trying to minimize my body lift and the fuel cell was my limiting factor. Looking back, I wish I had chosen a smaller capacity fuel cell - maybe 12 gallon (got a 16 gal) - to eliminate these space issues. The fuel cell has been one of the biggest PITA since I got it from cutting out my first modified cross-member, making a skid plate/mount that I trusted, and now making me run more body lift than I would have to without it. Not to mention I still have to figure out a custom filler neck when I add a tool box to cover my new holes. cratchhe:Too late now - not changing it :error:. If I were to change it now I'm afraid I'd switch to propane and open a whole different can of worms  I ended up cutting a section out for my AN fittings and was able to gain an extra inch. I'm down to a 2" BL - combo of WH 1" body mounts and a 1" puck. While I was at it I cut a hole above the filler door. I went ahead and cut it 6" diameter so I'll have room to work on things (sending unit etc.) without dropping the tank. I'm hoping to run a 45 deg. adapter that will neck through a tool box and I'll fill it up from the face of the tool box. So much for my pretty floor :uhoh3: Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - jollygrngiant - 08-27-2008 BUT NOW YOUR FLOOR HAS CHARACTER!!!:toothy12: Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 08-29-2008 I figure we'll start bending some tube for the front clip in the next week or two so decided to bolt the grill and fenders together to see how it's going to look. I like it upergrin: The grill isn't too narrow or too wide - gives perfect visibility. The drivers side is sticking up high due to interference with the cowl, but that'll be easy to fix. Here are some pics  Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - 744x4 - 08-29-2008 Just a little trimming and it should slide right in.Now you wish for a slanted cowl like the pasenger side. BTW my finger is throbbing like a BIOTCH now.I think it is missing its cut off piece and mourning for it.He He Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - bucketobolts - 08-29-2008 I like the stance. What is you rim width/backspacing? How much did you trim out of the grill? Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - 744x4 - 08-29-2008 stock Hummer 8 bolt beadlocks and 15 inches trimmed out of the grill Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - SC74 - 08-29-2008 bucketobolts Wrote:I like the stance. What is you rim width/backspacing? How much did you trim out of the grill? The wheels are H1, but I think that the BS on them has been changed to 3 or 3.5". Like Keith said, 15" on the grill. Project "Big Country" - Front Bumper Fab - blazinchuck - 08-29-2008 damn you guys...thats one sweet stance. Great job!!!! |
