Copper vs Aluminum radiators??? - Crawdad - 04-19-2011 A couple of guys on Classic Broncos have made their points that copper is more efficient than aluminum at transferring heat away. I have a very hard time believing this is true. Am I wrong? Copper vs Aluminum radiators??? - blazinchuck - 04-20-2011 well, everyone that i have ever seen race in any sport...runs alum. i find it hard to believe also. Copper vs Aluminum radiators??? - broncosbybart - 04-20-2011 Clay is studying heat transfer, maybe he can pipe in here. I wll say that alum is cheaper and lighter- probably the reason it is used so much now. I think that you should be ok with your new rad. Just have a good shroud on it. I have an alum Howe in the crawler w/the 351. It gets hot sometimes, but I don't have a shroud on it. It usually does fine, and it is always slow speed stuff. |
