JP had the same carb, and he installed the "offroad kit"...was pretty cheap and easy to do...his carb did awesome on the trails/rock crawling. i was running the truck avenger for offroad.

JP aint a carb guy, and he did it in no time(it was his 1st time to)

thanks for the info
since i have a 302 with a hood scoop, there shouldnt be any clearance issues but the fire issue is news to me.
from what ive read, the edebrocks dont handle steep angles so well as they tend to flood
maybe that has something to do with the fires on that filter
i wil be mainly on the road
but investing in fire exstinguisher either way

Hey Irmo, I picked up a 77' that the PO had put one of those on, when I looked inside, the filter is just a piece of foam rubber??? I chunked it and got a paper filter one. That was a week or 2 before the thread on CB. A spit back thru the carb would do it in??? Good Luck!!

thanks!
(the red lights on the dash are a little too blingy for my taste but i will leave them alone for now and see if they grow on me)
my camera plus app on my iPhone hides all the flaws well
you cant see the rust under the beltline trim or the dog hair on the interior carpet
next big project is the rear axle

Please do tell about the single wire 100 amp Tuff Stuff alternator. Was that a local purchase or catalog order? Did you install it?
