the 77's upgrades
with chuzie's help...last night we started moving the radio to the tuffy console. installed a painless 6 switch rocker panel in place of the radio in the dash. still got some more work there to do.

if everything goes right, we will be installing the 4.56 gear front/rear and front E-Locker.

ill post pics when i get some

got the new 4.56/trac-lok 3rd installed. found out the drop didnt actually have a fill plug cast into the 3rd. so we measured from the floor to the height of the original and transferred that measurement to the rear cover of the 9" housing. it ended up right in the center of the dimple pressed into the housing.

took it for a test run, the trac-lok works great and the 4.56's?????? WELL...THEY ARE AWESOME!!! i love it already...glad i went this route instead of 4.11

planning the start the front 4.56 and E-Locker

...wish us luck

inally got the front gears/locker installed. pretty much got them in sat, but didnt have any gear lub...so waited til sun to finish up. then phone rang, and had to go into work for 5 hrs that through the rest of my day off.

installed a detroit electrac locker(got it used). guess they havent been around a long time maybe since '02 and probably stopped being made a few yrs back. I had to work on the diff cover, found a small leak through a weld(PO welded guards on the front). everything seems to work, however the switch to turn on/off only works with sending grounds for the operations. so right now i cant have it operate and give me a light on the switch. i think i have to get a new switch.

installed some chromos and spicer 760 joints with the full circle clips(better than standard C clips)

drove it to work today.

I really love the 4.56!!!

thanks Chuzie for all the help this weekend!

So your 5 spd is working well with the 4.56s. How is the pwr around 60-65 MPH? Do you know the RPM at those speeds? I was beginning to wonder if my 4.56s were not enuff if I went to a 4 spd auto or 5 spd manual. Glad to hear you love yours!

power is great, when at 65mph my rpm is 2400. it still pulls in 4th or 5th gear. this should be a huge improvement over the 3.50 gears with 33's

speedo is showing about 11-12 too fast that those speeds. ill have to get another speedo gear to correct
