Chuzie's monster transformation
Haven't updated my To-Do list since April...

*** Adjust tranny modulator *** NOT NEEDED ***
*** Ceramic headers *** COMPLETE ***
*** Inclinometer + warning system *** COMPLETE ***
*** Install windshield chrome trim *** COMPLETE ***
*** Steering box brace *** COMPLETE ***
*** Tranny kickdown (Lokar) *** NOT NEEDED ***
*** Tranny vent *** COMPLETE ***

Some of the transmission stuff took care of itself with the replacement of the C4 with the 4R70W.

I installed the ceramic long tube headers during the trans swap that have been sitting in my garage since 2005.

I decided to go with an android app for an inclinometer.

Installed a 4x4x2 box and made a brace for it as well. It is ported for a RAM so more to come.

We also got hold of the RTI ramp used before the 4-link was installed so hope to get the "new" numbers next week.

My total 4R70W cost was.....

$1,980.00

There were additional costs like exhaust modifications and swapping out my headers but I did not include them since the headers were optional and the exhaust modifications were nominal.

It cost a bit more than I had budgeted but I am so pleased with the results.
not bad...although i think i have maybe $500 in mine lol...seeing how i swapped even for my C4 hehehe

Don't be mad because you are going to have arthritis in your left knee and you don't have a Nintendo controller for your transmission! Hater.

Well, it only took me 2 years, but I finally got the Bronco on an RTI ramp since theinstallation of the Duff's 4-link.

If you recall, we did an initial RTI measurement with the prior suspension for comparison. The test was performed on a 20* ramp. We tested the front driver's side and then the rear driver's side using the formula RTI dist / wheelbase x 1000. The front had an RTI of 608 (56/92x1000) and the rear 489 (45/92x1000). This was with 5.5" suspension lift with 35" tires.

Today, we tested the 4-link using the same RTI ramp and formula. The front scored 1117 (105/94x1000) and the rear 1160 (109/94x1000). Now we did move the rear axle back 2" which was accounted for in the calculation. Unfortunately, the rear outboard shocks have been an issue since day one. Next week I plan to eliminate the lower tabs on the truss and fab new ones on the lower part of the axle tube. This should give me the needed travel / compression to prevent crunching more shocks.

Once I create the new mounts and verify it fixes the issue, I will have to get new shocks from Duffs since mine were destroyed from bottoming out.

More to come...

Very cool! Nice to see some one be so thorough with before and after measurements. Your eb has come a long way in a short time.

Thanks. I just hope fixing these shocks will increase my score. Gotta have something to justify the extreme cost and tons of work involved with this 4-link.
