Sick Pony: 74' Sport Resto Mod for Trail and Street
yep... sad day for sure... no good news to that story at all...

Bronco is ready for the trails, but i need to find a flatbed trailer to borrow... all of my sources are going flaky. i do not want to drive it, since the clutch is still kinda questionable. i just don't want to have to depend on her to get me back down the road 4 hours to sumter... i wanna be able to have a stress free good time, lord knows i need it the way work has been lately...

You have time to swap that clutch dude. Think about it... If you are concerned that it won't make a short road trip, what makes you think it is going to survive the trails? The time and punishment that clutch will endure on the trail will well exceed anything you throw at it on the road.

I get what you are saying; if you drive it up and the trail kills your clutch, you are screwed getting home. My thought is, how much fun are you going to have when your clutch goes South in the first 3 hours of wheeling?

What is more stressful, changing a clutch at home or burning up the rest of your clutch on the trail and having driven all that way for nothing?

Revival! So I am in the planning stages of Phase II for Sick Pony. the short list is as follows:

FAST Fuel Injection EZ EFI
NV3550 Trans Conversion
Chase down all Electrical Gremlins

So I know a bunch of you guys are gonna try and talk me into 5.0 fuel injection, but as I understand it, its complicated by the fact that I have a 351, and I have no idea or confidence in how to wire the whole contraption. but convince away, i'm listening! LOL

so I found a full trans swap kit that includes all the adapters crossmember clutch and a rebuilt trans from JBG for 2400, so im open to cheaper suggestions there as well.

Anyway, im gonna start collecting small parts for the electrical first over the next few months... my goal is to be able to pay for EFI by March, and Trans by June... with everything done in time for November.

Who are you again??? I can't remember. Smile

Good to hear from you. I have no experience with the fast kit but hear that it is the best one out there. The Ford EFI is really hard to beat, but it will be a bit more involved and likely cost about the same. Between that and the 3550, you should be set. I won't steer you in another direction.

351vs 302= zero difference for efi except intake. I just happen to be in the process of removing my 351 efi lower/bc broncos adapter/mustang efi upper if you are interested in purchasing. If you don't think you can wire eec-iv efi, you have no business tracking down electrical gremlins in the rest of the bronco. Yes, efi is that easy.
