Ok got the leaf springs on the 68. Also got the old leaf springs, shocks, wheel cylanders, e brake cables off the 68 rear end.
The only other thing I need to do is put a stud in one of the axles as it is missing a wheel stud. Can I do this with the axle in the housing still? Any particular size or should they know all this at the local parts store? Will be placing a order for a bunch of parts on monday, and once they arrive, I will finish getting the rear end under the bronco so I can focus back on the engine or putting the other engine in.

You need to remove the axle to install the stud. Take the axle shaft with you to the parts store to verify they give you the right stud. They are specific and not generic.

Well looks like I will be taking the backing plate off might just take it to school monday and sand blast it and then paint it before I put the axle shaft back in, might just take both sides off then.

Ok axle shaft is out and stud is in, or will be once I put impact on it to pull it through. Are there any gaskets I need to get and replace since the axle shaft is out and backing plate is loose? Any fluids I need to worry about? Hopping to get this thing back together tomorrow so I can sand blast the axle since the backing plates won't come off without pulling the axle bearings off wanna get it back together and sand blast it where it sits.

DO NOT USE IMPACT!

how should I install the stud then with the backing plate blocking me from putting a hammer on it, I put the stud in put washers on then put an open lug nut on and was gunna use the impact to pull it into posistion?

As bart mentioned, the axle should come out and the stud pressed or, at the very least, hammered. You risk weakening the contact between splines and flange with impact. One day, when you go to remove a lug nut, it will just spin and you are screwed.

Ok got that will figure out how to get it pressed in, when you explain it that way I get it.
So do I need any new gaskets for like the backing plate to the axle or check any fluid levels since this is coming out completely?

I would change the axle seals since the shafts are coming out; cheap preventive maintenance IMO. Not sure of the current condition or level of the diff oil, but if it is fresh, just top it off after you reinstall the shafts. Keep the housing as level as possible to prevent oil loss.
