That's what i had in the back of my mind too....Or perhaps when it's just sitting in the yard or in the campground under a hard rain and i need to fire it up before the filter has a chance to dry.

Very true. I'm not trying to make a submarine out of the vehicle, just trying to minimize the chance of sucking water through the air intake during those all-too-common "it didn't look that deep!" mud holes...
And I'm just kicking around the idea at this point. It's not a mod that I'm going to do right away. It's hard for me to drill that 3" hole in my fender...
