I got home from a trip the other day and my home A/C was dead. A good amount of freon leaked out through the king valve. The tech came today for the repair and wanted to charge an additional $150 for freon evacuation and disposal. Seems steep to me but I am not aware of what they are being charged either.
I sent him away without doing the repair because I can't pay that kind of extra cash. Would have been nice to know before I waited all weekend for the A/C tech to show up.
I wonder if there is a do it yourself discharge kit or something.
