Re: the suspension work, I figured the 5" Skyjacker kit already on it would have all of the necessary pieces. Duly noted. And I totally agree - 33x12.50 BFG AT's would be perfect. Think anyone out there would be willing to trade...? Maybe I'll make a post.
Re: brakes, I'm hearing 3 possible fixes -
- Ford parts from a newer (post-77) bronco, F-150, etc.
- Chevy conversion (what, from a Blazer?)
- Kit from a catalogue (expensive)
So if I pull the entire brake system off a 79 or 80 Bronc, I'll be able to convert and squeeze them onto mine? Sounds like the most logical try...
Re: transmission, I'll have to check my gear ratios. I'd only be pulling the boat 3 miles or so at a time, but twice a week every week. Bart - though expensive, what is the story on an AOD tranny? Something from an Explorer or newer F150?
