NP 435 to D20
#1
Does anyone have a NP435 to Dana 20 adapter. With bolts or a descripion of bolts needed. I tried to go to Advanced adapters but the website wasn't working.

Thanks,
Craig

I have a in-line 6 intermediate housing to Dana 20. This is the one you can use just the spacer/adapter plate in between. The adapter is around 1" thick. You will want to use the 28-spline NP435. There are a number of sites out there with good info on the swap.

ive done the swap a few times...each time i used a 2wd 435, cut the threads off the end of the output shaft on the 435. look around for the spacer as mentioned...they can be had from $100-$250, then get a 6cyl housing. you can use your stock cross member. easy as pie. i think i found my adapter spacer on ebay...check on classic and ebay before dropping $250 for one

Thanks for the info. I already have the tranz. and the Intermediate housing is coming this week. from a guy in Ill. But will have to use the spud shaft. I didnt know about cutting off the threads of the shaft. Also Im going to mate this with my 289. Doesn't the Inline 6 with the NP435 F100/150 and up use the same 5 bolt bell housing I would need ???

not sure i understand your question. spud shaft(inside the intermediate housing?-YES) as cutting the threads, you need to make sure you have enough spline engaged. if your using a 2wd 435, just cut the shaft right where the threads stop(you wont need those threads anymore) im pretty darn sure, small V8's and 6Cyl...used the same bell housing bolt pattern

are you removing a auto and swapping in a 435? or did you have a manual already
