I brought the camera but didn't take a single pic sorry. One person in our crew took a few pics and the district ranger took some as well. Hopefully they will post them up on the NC4X4 board. We definitely WORKED yesterday, Throwing rocks and draging/carrying logs is not my idea of a fun day wheeling, but with the crew we had, we actually got a lot more done than the bigger crew so that was good, of course I'm a little sore today but not too bad. It was a really good thing it wasn't much hotter. Got to meet some other people and the forest service rangers. Terry was really glad to finally see some people from the club at a work day, so it was definitely worth it to show up. I have a more favorable view of at the 2 rangers that were there, they seem genuinly interested in keeping the trails open and they were both very appreciative of the work that gets done. I now truely believe that if there were no volunteers to help with the work, they would probably just close the trals. As it stands, not only are all the usual trials open, they are working on a re-route for the Saw-Mill trail, and are planning on re-opening at least one of the older trails and possibly another so there might be 2 new trials to ride on soon
It would be nice to get some more of the CB4X4 members out for another of the scheduled work days later this year if possible. The next one I would be able to attend would be August and anything more strenuous than trash pickup on a hot day would really be terrible. I'm thinking later this fall when it's a bit cooler.
Of course, now that I have a year pass, I need to get out 5 more times to make it pay for itself, so I talked to Charles and I think we're going to try schedule a few pure wheeling days and maybe even a couple of full weekends if it works out.
