1996 Land Rover

I scored a land rover yesterday got the title today...bought it from a lady that said it had a bad trans...paid scrap price for it..Confusedupergrin: 52000 miles:rebel:

i was playing with it tonight..put it in gear it wouldnt do anything...looked @ all the shafts checked the fluids....then i deceided to lock in the t-case, put it in gear and it took off...un-lock it it won't move Confusedcratchhe: like t-case goes into N.....ill check it some more tommorrow,:popc1: i think it might be something simple...:rebel:

Great score! Hope it is something simple. Sounds like the tranny is working. I had a buddy look at one with a bad tranny. Was going to cost $2k for a used one so he backed out.

Be careful with that one. I had a 1994 Disco and you couldn't keep that thing running. The aluminum V8 runs way too hot to keep it running long. The high heat makes all the seals expand and contract and leak like a seive. The Lucas electronics are a nightmare too. I really like the layout of the inside, I just couldn't keep it running. If you can figure out how to get a SB Ford in it, then you got something. The ZF tranny is solid and the suspension is flexy. Just needs a heart transplant.
